Frequently Asked Questions

1. How to apply - you need to fill up and submit your application. You may submit your application through a website, by mail, by fax or in person.

2. Travel Assignments - Travel needs are being posted and updated weekly in the travel needs page. The nature of the travel assignments will range from hospital to hospital. We will discuss more details about the assignment once you ascertained which location you want to proceed.

3. What are the Requirements :

1. Valid License- immediately after deciding the location of your assignment, you need to obtain a license to practice in the state you are traveling. The length of time the license application is being processed varies from state to state. Some states take up to 12 weeks to process. It is advised that you process your license in the earliest possible time.
2. Current Certification (ACLS, BLS, PALS, NALS, NRP, etc)- whatever is applicable
3. Physical Examination- done by a doctor, a physician assistant or a nurse practitioner that certifies that you were found in good physical and mental health, free from communicable diseases and able to function in full capacity without limitations.
4. Tests- everybody needs to do pharmacology exam, annual safety test, and specialty test based on your specialized area of work.
5. PPD- this is an annual test. If the PPD is positive, it means you have been exposed to TB. To identify if you are active with the disease, you need to take a chest X-ray and fill up a TB questionnaire.
6. Hepatitis Series- you must show proof of the dates the vaccine were administered as well as the results of a titer to validate immunity. If you refuse to obtain the series, you must sign a waiver indicating such.
7. Measles, Mumps, Varicella and Rubella- you must show proof of disease, immunizations and/or positive titers.
8. Drug Screen- most of the hospitals require 10 panel drug screen.
